What is the size of the coal bins in each coal-fired boiler?
It’s hard to say regarding LZ’s situation; boiler capacities vary, and of course so do the coal storage areas. The coal bin originally designed for our 35T fluidized bed was of reinforced concrete structure; it was later redesigned and modified by us into a steel coal bin, with a capacity of approximately 104 cubic meters, which is about 20 cubic meters more than the original design.
When transporting coal by train or ship, the maximum coal consumption of the boiler room over 10–25 days is taken into account; when transporting coal by truck, the maximum coal consumption of the boiler room over 5–10 days is used. Additionally, the area required for the coal storage yard depends on the height of the coal piles.
Depending on the specific conditions of each factory, if there is a large dry coal storage area along with a coal feeding system on site, I believe that the coal storage capacity should not be too large; 10–12 hours’ worth of coal should be sufficient. If there is no such dry coal storage area, then coal has to be stored in regular coal silos, and in that case a much larger capacity is required, which entails higher construction costs.

I also want to know that we have a chain furnace, which is restricted by the conveyor belts (two belts); the coal bunker is quite large, and during the design phase, our colleagues in the structural department gave their opinions. The coal bin has a capacity of about 200 cubic meters
The size of the coal bin should be determined by taking into account both the boiler’s hourly coal consumption and the downtime required for maintenance of the coal preparation equipment. Prevent production disruptions caused by failures in coal production equipment.

The size of the coal storage room is generally related to the period for which coal storage is required, as specified in the contract or by the client. Domestic regulations require a coal storage capacity of 8 to 12 hours, with some owners demanding an even longer period. Coal hoppers are further divided into conical and hyperbolic types; the calculation methods for different types of coal hoppers vary and are quite complex. For road transport, the size of the coal bunker for boiler fuel is generally designed to cover 15 days’ worth of coal
