I was recently working on a tower structure, and I encountered difficulties when selecting wind loads and seismic loads in PVELite. There are many standards available, and I’m not sure which one to use. Among them are: “Prohibited content; please delete”. For SMIC standards: ASCE-88 \ ASCE-93 \ UBC-1994 \ ……; for wind load standards: ASCE-88 \ ASCE-93 \ ……. I wonder whether experts choose the appropriate standard based on their own judgment, or according to the standards specified by the client, or perhaps based on the location of the project and then select the standard that applies there

When specified by the owner, it is usually based on the latest version of ASCE, which is often 2005. Consider where the application will be used: if the software does not include relevant data, and the owner only provides information such as wind speed, then you can customize the wind loads and seismic loads yourself. For example, in equipment used on ships, wind loads are higher due to sea winds, and seismic loads are also greater because the ocean surface fluctuations caused by hurricanes are similar to those resulting from earthquakes
