Welding procedure qualification for Inconel 625 pipes

For the projects we undertake, there are pipes made of special nickel-based alloy materials such as Inconel 625, but our company does not have any welding procedure qualifications for such materials. If we conduct a process evaluation, what specific tasks should be carried out? If you know anything specific, please share it; thank you.

This post was last edited by bastaro on 2009-6-1 20:55. 1. Use TIG welding with argon shielding inside; the wire used is ERNiCrMo-3 Φ1.2. A low wire energy is used to keep the interlayer temperature below 100, thereby preventing thermal cracks. 2. SMAW welding is employed, using the ENiCrMo-3 electrode; the diameter of this electrode is chosen based on the size of the pipe and the welder’s personal preferences
Where did you buy the 625 pipes? Hehe
