How should fasteners be selected for different valve flanges?
Based on the experience gathered by those around me: (1) Use the handle of pliers to grip one of the bolt holes in order to adjust the alignment of the flanges. (2) There is another type of clip; this was made for us by the mechanical department using our company’s manufacturing techniques. It looks a lot like the head of a pipe wrench.
I don’t understand what the original poster means! ! Is it due to a mismatch in flange sizes? ? Replace the flange or add a short pipe between the valves! In short, the flanges need to be matched
It depends. Flanges definitely require bolts, while those with threads need fittings.

The selection of bolts and nuts for flanges is determined through calculations, with slight differences depending on the standard system. Generally, once the flange pound rating and nominal diameter are determined, the thickness of the bolts and the size of the nuts are also fixed; only the length needs to be calculated. In the petrochemical industry, we use the formula specified in SH3406 – you can check that out.

The question is indeed quite confusing. Although the valves are different, the pressure and specifications of the valves chosen for use on the same pipeline should be the same, and the selection parameters for flanges also relate to these two aspects. As for selecting the bolts and nuts, once the flange and bolt holes are determined, the material to be used, which corresponds to that of the valve, is also decided; then it’s just a matter of calculating the length. This is just my humble opinion!
