Please talk about the types of slag removers and the problems encountered
I think there is quite a lot of relevant content on this forum. The most commonly used types of slag removal devices in bulk boilers are disk and Martin slag removers; they present few problems and are not prone to damage. In compact boiler systems, chain slag removal devices (divided into double-chain and single-chain types) and screw slag removal devices are commonly used; both types suffer significant wear over time and thus need to be replaced.

Our company uses spiral slag discharge machines, and there are frequent issues with poor sealing at the shaft seals, resulting in severe leakage that makes it impossible to clean the area. The shock absorbers at the coupling often get damaged. Proper lubrication cannot be ensured at the bearings below; these bearings often get damaged, and shaft slippage occurs
Our unit uses a scraper slag remover. Its main problems are: 1. The toothed disc of the drive wheel is severely worn. 2. The guide wheels of the scraper are severely worn. 3. The slag falling from the slag hopper sometimes gets stuck in the scraper.
Our factory uses scraper slag removers; the main issues are that the wear and tear isn’t severe, and also the scrapers are quite brittle and tend to break easily.
We use scraper slag removers, which suffer from severe wear. Additionally, if the operators are not diligent, it is easy for blockages to occur, leading to damage to the gearbox.
