For a long time, we have used the sulfur melting furnace process for sulfur melting. Considering the high maintenance requirements of the equipment, severe corrosion, and the problems associated with the exhaust gases generated during the sulfur melting process, we are considering using centrifugal dehydrators to treat the sulfur foam. However, we are not sure what to do with the resulting sulfur What are the market prospects? Is there any buyer who needs it? A DX who is aware of the situation can provide some information
We just started using sulfur melting tanks to deal with sulfur foam; we’ve been using them for over a year now. The pipes suffer from severe corrosion and blockages, which requires significant costs for maintenance. Working with fire is also unsafe, and the exhaust emissions pose serious environmental problems, creating considerable pressure in terms of environmental regulations. After conducting some research, we switched to centrifuges (manufactured in Jinan, Shandong Province) for handling sulfur foam. We’ve been using them for 7 months now, and the results are quite good – there has been no need for any repairs, the environmental conditions have improved significantly, steam costs have been reduced, and the workload for employees has decreased. However, it seems that the sulfur paste produced doesn’t sell very well, so we always have a large inventory on site
Suppliers in Canada, the United States, and the Middle East relied heavily on the Chinese market for sales in the first quarter of 2009, with total domestic sulfur inventory in China reaching 1.5 million tons. The market is currently paying close attention to when imports into the Chinese market will come to an end; with high tariffs in place and exports restricted until June, sulfur imports in April and May are likely to decline. The phosphate fertilizer markets in Morocco and Jordan are expected to see only limited recovery in the second quarter, with significant inventory pressures remaining in terms of imports. In the second quarter, goods from Kazakhstan in a supplier-driven market will gradually reach the North African market, while high-level discussions in Russia regarding real-time subsidies for re-export are still underway. Against such a backdrop, and under the pressure of rising freight costs, determining pricing for the second quarter has become a challenging issue. Arab suppliers noted that supply is already tight while demand remains strong, which has led to rising port prices. Adnoc raised its export price in March to $45/t FOB. Contract negotiations between Morocco’s OCP and the Middle Eastern companies Aramco, Adnoc, and KPC are nearing completion, with negotiation prices around $60 per ton CFR, which corresponds to an FOB price of 35–40 per ton.
The process is feasible; some of the larger factories in Jiangsu use similar methods. There is usually some inventory available. If you don’t melt sulfur, you can contact plate and frame filter or centrifuge manufacturers, as they often handle the recycling process. Of course, it’s necessary for both parties to find it beneficial for them to work together. Finally, if there is too much inventory, you can also concentrate the sulfur melting process; since the water content is low, the steam consumption per unit will also be reduced, making it easier to purchase elemental sulfur. I hope it will be useful; since it is a semi-finished product, the price won’t be too high. It depends on the market price of sulfur, which has seen significant fluctuations in recent years, ranging from 200 to 2000 yuan per ton. The market decides everything; in any case, the pressure to protect the environment will be lower, and there are still good solutions from a technical standpoint
The poor sales of sulfur paste are closely related to market demand; relatively speaking, there is a greater demand for sulfur in the market. It is suggested that your company consider improving its facilities to recover and produce sulfur. However, it should be noted that the commonly used Claus recovery method is not very suitable due to issues related to patents and high costs. My organization has adopted other methods to address this problem. If you are interested, you can communicate with me via QQ at 251872584
