Ways to avoid posting repeatedly

I think our website should have a way to prevent duplicate posts; if identical text appears in the title, the system should give a warning or prevent such posts from being uploaded, so that there will be no more duplicate posts on our forum. I remember that on some websites, when text related to **political propaganda or other religious propaganda** appears, the system will issue a warning or simply prohibit posting comments. It’s like having a filter before the content enters the device; in this way, our forum can avoid many unnecessary troubles for the moderators. I now don’t even dare to rate new posts – before rating each one, I first search to see if there are any posts that are exactly identical to it, out of fear.
This is a good suggestion; if it can be implemented, it will help reduce a lot of duplicate posts

It’s good to consider it, but it’s debatable... There are countless problems that arise in actual work... Maybe some of them fall under the same category, but it’s still necessary to post a thread... For example, there can be many different types of pump failures; if I were to post a question about how to repair a pump, what should I do? I can’t possibly explain the problem in the title, right? Or it tells me that there are already relevant posts on the forum, but after checking I can’t find any that I can use, which is a waste of my time; in the end I still won’t be able to post... The above are just my personal opinions for reference only!

Yes, everyone is worried about it, but actually that feature is very easy to implement
The original poster’s idea is quite utopian. Those who post duplicate messages do so intentionally; they can change the title or subject of the post to distinguish it from previous posts with similar content. Unless such posts are downloaded and read, it’s really difficult for administrators to know how to deal with them
There is such a technology, but it seems to be rather unstable. I tried it for a few days on a forum last year, and sometimes it wouldn’t even allow me to post topic threads.

Certain characters can be prohibited or replaced with symbols; repeat posting? That’s unlikely! For example, if two replies are both 100 characters long with only one character or one digit differing, how should we determine whether they constitute duplicate posts?
I fairly agree with the original poster’s suggestion; it will make management easier!
The moderator goattiger is absolutely right. The only solution is to carry out large-scale organization and simplification of forum posts. You can use the Final Fantasy approach, but on a higher level. Last year, the success of the “One Million Whys” initiative was due to the fact that the moderators carefully screened and organized the posts, removing spammy replies, repetitive responses, and those that were meaningless, so as to keep only the valuable replies for everyone’s reference. Also, last year, putting too much effort into the graphic design was not cost-effective.
Reposting doesn’t necessarily mean the topic names are the same; sometimes it’s just that the content is identical
