How to analyze oxygen in nitrogen? What instruments are used for detection and analysis? What is the accuracy? This post was last edited by Canghai Yili Sha on 2009-2-28 at 19:28.]
If it is industrial nitrogen or high-purity nitrogen, a micro-oxygen meter, that is, a zirconia detector, should be used for measurement. 0-100ppm can be measured. If it is a percentage content, it can be determined using chromatography. TDX column, TCD detector; it can be completed within 2-3 minutes.
It can be detected using chromatography. If only oxygen is involved, an oxygen meter can be used. The ranges include both constant and minimal values; you should purchase according to your own analysis requirements.
Gas chromatography analysis – something we do every day
The analysis of oxygen in nitrogen can generally be divided into two main categories: instrumental analysis and chemical analysis. Instrumental analysis can be further divided into chromatographic analysis and electrochemical analysis ; Electrochemical analysis can be further divided into zirconia, fuel cells, and electrolytic cells ; Of course, it can be further subdivided, but I won’t go into details here. Chemical analysis can also include colorimetric analysis ; What I’m talking about here relates mainly to levels below the order of constants; above that level, it should not be called oxygen analysis in nitrogen, but rather oxygen content analysis in air ; As for the measurement accuracy mentioned, 0.01 PPM should be sufficient for you; it represents an extremely small amount. At the PPB level as well, measurement is not a problem.
For constants, use an O₂ gas analyzer; as long as you can ensure that the analyzer doesn’t leak or have fluid leakage issues and is operated properly
For constants, an austenite gas analyzer is used, and for trace amounts, gas chromatography is used.

The nitrogen used for nitrogen protection in the storage tanks comes from externally purchased nitrogen cylinders. Given the variety of gases available, it is easy to make mistakes; therefore, when purchasing these nitrogen cylinders, we use portable oxygen analyzers for inspection. The CY-12C portable oxygen analyzer produced by Meicheng Electrochemical Analysis Instrument Factory in Jiande City, Zhejiang Province, is used for this purpose, with a measurement range of 0–100%, 0–25%, and 0–5%; Accuracy: ±0.15% (when oxygen content is below 5%), ±0.3% (when 5%–25%), ±3% (when above 50%) ; Resolution: 0.01%. It is more convenient to use.
