Is it good to add a filter in front of the sulfur melting tank?

Hello, our factory intends to install a 1 million-ton coke production system. The desulfurization process for coke production will use the ammonia absorption method. In the design, there is a sulfur melting tank after the sulfur foam tank. Some sources suggest that adding a filtration step before the sulfur melting tank can significantly reduce the sulfur content in the desulfurization solution, and it makes sense logically. I would like to ask my senior colleagues in this field: how great is the benefit of adding a filtering step? What kind of filtering device is better? (For example: use a plate and frame filter press intermittently, and a vacuum drum filter continuously.) Thank you.
A filtration device using a continuous vacuum drum is better. There are many advantages: 1. It saves a large amount of steam. 2. It can reduce suspended sulfur and alleviate sulfur blockage. 3. Reduce the workload on operators and improve the working environment. 4. Reduce erosion and corrosion of the equipment.

Using intermittent sulfur melting with a filter can save some steam, but it is necessary to vent the system after each sulfur melting process; this results in severe air pollution at the site and a large amount of waste liquid. Continuous sulfur melting kettles, especially those of the internal partition type, have a low liquid discharge temperature and relatively low steam consumption. Generally speaking, excessive considerations lead to high steam consumption in the sulfur melting tank, as all the material inside the tank needs to be heated to over 120 degrees, and the vaporization of water requires a large amount of steam.
The principle of adding filters is good, but it can be troublesome in practice! It will definitely get clogged over time, and it needs to be cleaned regularly! My workshop originally used a Gore filter, but later the piping was redrouted and it was left unused!
