Under what conditions is it appropriate to put the heating furnace feed pump into operation during the startup of delayed coking? Temperature and medium conditions?
It should be put into use after the temperature is increased, in order to prevent cavitation and ensure the safety of the heating furnace.
The feed pump of the heating furnace must be started only during the temperature-raising and dehydration process of the entire system; at this stage, the flow rate is not very stable, resulting in significant fluctuations. Stability is only achieved when the temperature exceeds 150 degrees, at which point the system can be heated up for normal operation.
Put into use after the 350-degree constant temperature period is over!
The wax oil replacement across the entire system has been completed (it is essential to personally verify the replacement status in each branch). Once the temperature was maintained at 250–300 degrees, we started operating the system. It is difficult to control the flow rate using reciprocating pumps, and flow deviation can occur easily; no vacuum conditions occurred in the feed pump of the heating furnace during operation;
350 degrees constant temperature, good preheating, the entire system is thoroughly dehydrated.
It is put into use after constant-temperature dehydration at 250~300 degrees is completed.
The analysis of the wax oil circulation within the unit shows that the water content is less than 1%; the temperature at the furnace outlet is around 350 degrees. The temperature of the pump body must be at least 60 degrees higher than the lowest temperature in the tower. Additionally, the seal oil pressure must be 0.01 greater than the pump inlet pressure
It is better to put it into use as early as possible, provided that the water is thoroughly drained and the pump is properly preheated
The temperature difference with the medium should be less than 50 degrees; it should be put into use during a constant temperature period of around 260-300 degrees.
It is generally put into use after the combined operation with wax oil
During the first start-up of coking, a reciprocating pump was not used; instead, a feed pump was employed for starting up, and no vacuuming was carried out.
It is better to start operating when the temperature at the furnace outlet is above 380 degrees and that at the bottom of the fractionation tower is above 250 degrees; this way, it’s easier to increase the flow rate of the radiation pump, and there will be sufficient sealing oil available.
