Is feeding charge in blast furnace ironmaking an intermittent process with batch feeding?
The entire feeding process is essentially continuous; as long as the furnace is operating properly, feeding continues without interruption. However, coke, pellets, and sinter are added intermittently – that is, feeding of coke stops after it has been added, and then feeding of sinter begins... Iron extraction also takes place intermittently, not continuously; iron is extracted at regular intervals, and it is then transported by torpedo cars to converters or electric furnaces for steel production, or to casting machines for casting pig iron. Feeding is divided into batch feeding and coke batch feeding, with a certain time interval between them; similarly, iron tapping also occurs at regular intervals. But the entire smelting process is continuous.
There is a certain interval, determined based on production needs.
