Please discuss how the water and a small amount of oil resulting from the cooling process after large-scale steam injection in coking are handled
Water, reuse. Oil is sent to the sludge tank.
Our original design called for oil-water separation, just like on the second floor: “water, for reuse.” Oil is sent to the sludge tank. ”However, in actual operation it was found that separating oil from water was difficult, so the mixture was simply sent to the downstream wastewater stripping unit. Their feed tank has a \"tank within a tank\" design, which allows for effective recovery of the contaminated oil. In the words of one of the managers: the coking unit is used for dealing with slag reduction, while the wastewater stripping unit is designed specifically for treating sulfur-containing wastewater. Sulfur-containing wastewater is difficult to treat in itself; why then expend so much effort and resources on processing it in the coking unit? (Other coking plants use large tanks to ensure that sulfur-containing wastewater has enough time to settle, thereby eliminating emulsification, and some even use demulsifiers.) It’s better to send such wastewater to specialized departments for treatment. If you think about it carefully, it makes sense.
I agree with your point; almost every factory handles things in this way

Make sure to skim off the water, then pour it back into the cold coke water tank... The oil is recycled as well, right?:lol
