Performance testing of centrifugal ventilators

A performance testing bench for centrifugal ventilators is currently being developed, and two approaches have been considered: one is to use air valves, with the centrifugal fan operating at a constant speed; the other is to use an inverter, which drives an asynchronous motor that in turn drives the centrifugal fan. I wonder if the forum members have any good suggestions.
It’s better to use variable frequency drives; they save energy and are easy to adjust. It’s not convenient to control air valves using actuators.
