Steam turbines, gas turbines, or flame turbines are all referred to as turbines. The concept of a turbine is a machine that converts the energy contained in a fluid medium into mechanical work. Due to the difference in media, the names also vary. When steam is used as the working medium, it is called a steam turbine or steam engine ; Those that use fuel gas as a medium are called gas turbines ; A flue gas turbine generates power by utilizing flue gas, and it is now widely used in catalytic units in oil refining.
It is an energy-saving device that uses the waste flue gas from the catalytic units in refineries to drive work. The Machinery Factory of Lanzhou Refining and Chemical Industry Complex is primarily responsible for producing this product.
In simple terms, the smoke generated by the equipment has high pressure; it would be a shame to let it be wasted. Alternatively, this high-pressure smoke can serve as raw material for the next processing stage, but its high pressure makes it unsuitable for use in that stage. Therefore, machinery equipped with blades was developed to convert this energy into other forms, such as electricity, thereby recovering the energy and meeting the required needs. For example, TRT units in steel mills utilize the high-pressure gas produced by blast furnaces to drive turbines for power generation, while the gas after pressure reduction is used as a heating source in the rolling mill process.
The flue gas turbine in the catalytic unit is an energy recovery device; it is used to recover the thermal energy from the recycled flue gas to generate electricity or to directly drive the main fan, providing air for the regeneration of the catalyst.
A steam turbine, also simply referred to as a turbine, is driven by high-pressure steam; A flue gas turbine, abbreviated as FGT, is driven by high-pressure flue gas ; The core of a gas turbine consists of a compressor, a combustion chamber, and a turbine, and its technical complexity is much higher than that of a simple expander
