Ladies and gentlemen, let’s talk about the desulfurization processes used in our factory – which one is the most effective? Our factory currently uses the MDEA method. Are there any colleagues who use this method? Could you share some useful information?

As far as I know, MDEA is mainly used for decarburization; of course, it can also be used for desulfurization. The MDEA process is a polyamine-based method that belongs to the category of physicochemical absorption processes, and heat is required for its regeneration. For coke oven gas desulfurization, the glue-coating method or PDS can be used entirely. Furthermore, for the desulfurization regeneration tower, high-tower regeneration should not be chosen; spray regeneration requires less investment and yields better desulfurization results. This suggestion is for reference only.
From what I understand, the desulfurization processes include HPF, AS, and the vacuum carbonate desulfurization process introduced from Japan. Among them, the HPF has a good desulfurization effect, but the waste liquid it generates cannot be treated.
