But I’m still worried I might not fully understand the following statement: “3.1% sodium hypochlorite with pH 8.75 and assay 3.2” – does this mean that the effective chlorine content is 3.1%, the free alkali content is 3.2%, and its pH value is 8.75? I would like to ask how, using ordinary industrial sodium hypochlorite, it is possible to prepare sodium hypochlorite with the conditions mentioned above? I would also like to ask: if I want to dilute sodium hypochlorite of a certain concentration to another concentration, should I add drinking water or a sodium hydroxide solution of a certain concentration? Industrial sodium hypochlorite can be obtained in two ways: 1. Purchase it as a commercial product and then prepare it according to needs; 2. The factory prepares it itself; the preparation method involves mixing chlorine gas with an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide using a Venturi mixer. Purchase industrial-grade sodium hypochlorite, dilute it with water to a certain concentration, and then adjust the pH value using a small amount of sodium hydroxide. 3.1% sodium hypochlorite with pH 8.75 and assay 3.2 means that the pH of 3.1% sodium hypochlorite is 8.75, and its assay value is 3.2%.
