Reposted to HaiCi for sharing among friends. My Mom’s Life Wisdom. My mom is in her seventies and has seen a lot in her lifetime. She has faced the challenges that we all encounter in one form or another. She has also experienced successes and many happy moments throughout her life. Recently, we were talking, and I asked her if she could give me just three pieces of advice for living my life – what they would be. After some thought, she said she needed time to think about it. It surprised me that she wanted time to consider it; she used to give me advice readily, even when I didn’t want to hear it. The next day, I went to her house, and she handed me a piece of paper on which she had written down her three pieces of wisdom. She explained that since she could only give me three pieces of advice, these three were the most important. As I read them, I realized the significance of what she was saying. She wasn’t telling me to save money, nor was she telling me to work hard. Her three most important tips for leading a happy life were truly wise words. What were they? Here is the wisdom my mom shared with me: 1. Make every new day meaningful by helping someone or simply making someone smile. 2. Don’t dwell on the problems in life; think about the good times. 3. Don’t worry about things you can’t control. It’s an interesting thing to do. Perhaps, like me, you have someone in your life who has always been there for you, no matter what. My mom has always been one of my biggest supporters, and the wisdom she has given me over the years has helped shape the person I am today. Ask that person in your life to give you three pieces of advice for living a good life. You might be pleasantly surprised by the answers you receive. We have experienced many successful and happy moments. Recently, during our conversation, I asked her for three suggestions on how to live a good life. She thought for a while and said she needed to consider the issue carefully. It surprised me, because she is usually very generous with her advice, even when I don’t want to hear it.
