In electrical management, what is a dropable load? Safe load? How much larger is the safe load than the load?
After the generator suddenly drops the load, the rotor will overspeed because the rotor immediately loses resistance torque, that is, the frequency will increase. If the inductive reactive power is output before the load is dropped, the machine terminal voltage should increase, but the excitation control should reduce the voltage by adjusting the excitation. As for the adjustment speed, it depends on the time constant setting of the proportional integral link of the excitation control system. If the rotor overspeeds, the prime mover protection should act. For example, the steam turbine safety valve should be opened to release high-pressure steam to reduce the rotor dynamic torque.
I still don’t understand. Our substation has design compliance and a fallable load, but there is no safe load.
