Liaoyang Petrochemical's annual 1.4 million tons reforming-disproportionation combined unit begins construction http://news.cnpc.com.cn/images/A012007011.jpg China Petroleum News Center http://news.cnpc.com.cn/images/A012007011.jpg News from China Petroleum Network (Reporter Zhang Kun and Cao Baiyu): On February 26, Liaoyang Petrochemical Company officially started construction of the 1.4 million tons/year reforming-disproportionation combined unit, marking that Liaoyang Petrochemical has taken a decisive step towards the goal of "large aromatics base". Liaoyang Petrochemical is an important aromatics and derivatives production base of PetroChina, with an aromatics system production capacity of over one million tons. Since this company currently has only 500,000 tons of naphtha reforming processing capacity, it has been relying heavily on outsourcing of raw materials such as MX (mixed xylene) required for downstream PX (para-xylene) and other aromatic hydrocarbon production units. After the completion of Liaoyang Petrochemical's 1.4 million tons/year reforming-disproportionation combined unit, it will solve the problem of insufficient processing capacity of reforming raw materials, and at the same time, it can also provide low-cost by-product hydrogen for the hydrogenation unit of the refining system. The start of construction of this project will enable Liaoyang Petrochemical to get rid of the bottleneck of industrial development, leverage its resource advantages, effectively connect the oil refining and aromatics industry chains, and reduce corporate production costs. The main project of Liaoyang Petrochemical's 1.4 million tons per year continuous reforming-disproportionation combined unit and supporting projects includes 1.46 million tons per year raw material pretreatment, 1.4 million tons per year continuous reforming, 1.3 million tons per year disproportionation and 50,000 standard cubic meters per hour PSA unit. Among them, the reforming system adopts the latest technology from the United States. This project was approved by the group company on January 15 this year and passed the preliminary design review on February 14. It is expected to be completed by CCCC by the end of 2010. After completion, it is expected to increase sales revenue by 1.22 billion yuan per year for Liaoyang Petrochemical.
