There is a circulator with a capacity of 180 Nm3/h in the plant, and the flow meter downstream of it experiences extremely strong oscillations during operation; the reason for this is unknown. The compressor is reciprocating and equipped with a buffer tank; the flow meter is a magnetic rotor flow meter.
The distance between the buffer tank and the flow meter is insufficient!
Then, may I ask what distance is appropriate? It’s currently about 5 meters
I disagree with the analysis above; generally, the buffer tank of a reciprocating compressor is installed directly at the outlet, and the distance to the flow meter in the pipelines downstream should not cause such a phenomenon. If it’s a newly installed unit, it might be that the capacity of the buffer tank is insufficient. If it’s an existing unit and this problem didn’t exist before, it is recommended to check the outlet valve and check valve of the circulation pump.
Analyze it from the following aspects for reference only. 1. It is recommended to check whether the pipe clamps on the outlet pipeline of the circulation pump are loose If it becomes loose, the pipeline will vibrate, and the flow meter will definitely shake as well. 2. Is the circulation machine operating under overload? If it operates under overload conditions, the flow velocity of the gas within the pipes increases, which will certainly also cause the pipes to vibrate and sway. 3. Check whether the foot bolts of the compressor unit itself are loose? If it becomes loose, the vibration of the host will also cause the pipeline to vibrate and sway. 4. How many columns and stages does the owner’s circulation machine have? Please check whether the inflation loads for each column and section are matched Has any change caused an imbalance in the piston force?
The flow meter is a magnetic rotor flow meter. It is estimated that the flow meter is not working properly; it is recommended to replace it with a differential pressure flow meter during maintenance.
