Stop valves have a direction; there is an arrow on the valve body, and it can also be determined by the principle of flow from low to high. It will not work if installed in the wrong direction
There was a similar post in the forum earlier on, around the end of December last year. The consequence of reverse installation is pressure buildup and a decrease in flow rate. Search for it and take another look!
