During a actual operation, when we switched from using pump A to pump B, we encountered low pressures at the outlet of pump B as well as in the main feedwater pipe. I would like to ask everyone what could be the reasons for this
This phenomenon should be temporary; it will return to normal after running for a while! The possible reason is that pump B does not exhaust properly!
The output of the two pumps is the same. There are several possible reasons for this situation. 1. When switching between the two pumps, it should be after pump B is operating normally. When the pressure reaches the designed outlet pressure of the pump, open the outlet valve of pump B and close the outlet valve of pump A. 2. The feed water pump is generally centrifugal and may experience cavitation. When the pump’s suction inlet is low, priming is required.
