Reducing valves and constriction valves

Dear experts: What is the difference between reducing valves and necking valves? What are the different requirements during manufacturing? For example, I want to buy a reducing valve with dimensions of 4/3"*1/2", but the manufacturer sent me a valve with both ends at 4/3" size; it’s a bit confusing
Hello: Let me share my personal opinion. The diameter change mainly refers to altering the diameter of the flange that connects to the valve – that is, the flange welded to the pipeline. Generally, the flanges on both sides of the valve body are not modified in terms of diameter, as that would be very complicated; it would require changing the casting mold (when the valve body is made by casting), which increases costs. You can ask the supplier to provide matching flanges, and that will solve the problem
A variable-diameter valve is a valve whose inlet and outlet diameters are different； A reduced-bore valve is a valve whose channel diameter is smaller than the nominal diameter for some reason, but the inlet and outlet diameters remain the same.
