Is a compensation wire needed for a PT100 platinum resistor?

I agree with what was said on floor 5: it’s not that thermal resistors don’t require a compensation wire; rather, one of the wires in the three-wire system serves as the compensation wire. It’s just that we don’t call it a compensation wire in everyday usage. Everyone is familiar with the compensation wires for thermocouples, but some may not be aware of those for thermal resistors.
