Shielded pump shaft breakage

A few days ago, one of the shielded pumps in our workshop was vibrating severely during operation. Upon disassembly, it was found that the shaft had broken at the key location. The inlet filter, on the other hand, was quite clean, so it doesn’t seem like the impeller was stuck. Could anyone help analyze the cause?
1. There is a problem with the pump shaft design. 2. Check whether it is under overload or operating far outside normal conditions. 3. Could it be fatigue fracture?
I have encountered the issue of shaft breakage in shielded pumps several times. Based on my own observations, it can be mainly attributed to two factors: 1. Through an analysis of the forces acting on the entire rotor assembly, we found that the most vulnerable area is the chip removal groove at the front of the rotor shaft. However, when designing shielded pumps, various measures are taken to enhance the strength of this area; if the shaft still breaks even after such measures are implemented, it is likely that there is a problem with the material, which does not meet the required standards. 2. Our unit has been using over 70 of these units for 6 years now, and we haven’t encountered this issue
