I wonder how my colleagues carry out weight verification when using large containers such as raw material storage tanks. Generally, water is the most commonly used medium. However, if the medium stored in the tank has high requirements regarding moisture levels, and the container is too large making it difficult to remove moisture, are there any other better methods for verification or alternative ways to remove water? What I mean is to load the material into a tank truck and weigh it; we use this method here to calibrate flow meters. I understand what you mean: the density of the material is unknown and it’s not convenient to measure it directly; otherwise, since the volume of the storage tank is known, the weight can be calculated. The tank truck method involves a known volume for the tank truck’s storage tank, and weighing is also straightforward, making it easy to determine the density of the material.
First, consider the method of measurement: radar or pressure transmitters have relatively low relative errors, while plate level gauges or float level gauges have relatively higher errors. The greater the error, the less reliable the calibration results will be. The proofreading results can only be used as a reference; continuous proofreading should be carried out by transferring the material using tank trucks during use.
