SCR short-circuit fault

The soft starter (ABB) has experienced SCR short-circuit failures on several occasions; each time, the issue was resolved only by manual reset. Help is requested! ---The equipment is: Ingersoll Rand air compressor 110KW
Check the soft start under no-load conditions, or use a dummy load for testing; then check whether the high starting torque of the air compressor is causing an elevated starting current :)
Appropriate adjustments were made during that period, such as extending the start-up time for soft starting, but no improvement was observed. It was also observed that under no-load and loaded conditions, there was no significant difference compared to other air compressor units.
It’s likely a quality issue with the soft starter; it is recommended to send it for repair. An SCR short-circuit fault is usually caused by an inability to shut it down effectively; this may be due to poor quality of the SCR itself or problems with the control circuit. Check whether the contacts of the plug-in are in good condition; if there are no issues, take it for repair.
It seems to be related to automatic control, rather than issues in chemical engineering or environmental protection processes
It’s probably a problem with the SCR device; replace it!
