Personally, I think it’s not a lack of popularity in the foreign language sections; what’s important is the lack of depth and engagement. Look at some posts – the original poster just shares something, and there are no members who reply or participate at all. This raises several issues: 1. What is the quality of the materials posted by the original poster? 2. Why aren’t members participating actively? 3. Have our moderators paid sufficient attention to this issue? Some members in the foreign language section post messages just to earn some points; they take a passage from any source and post it, splitting it into several posts – sometimes posting five, six, seven, eight, or nine posts in a single day. Shouldn’t we establish a policy for such members, with moderators providing appropriate guidance?……

Could we regularly share some English news every day for everyone to discuss and comment on? Of course, in English.:victory:

The format of the fourth forum was great! The listening and translation of the English short films among them is very challenging! Suggestion: Hold more activities like this from time to time. We should not pay too much attention to things like popularity. Some areas have high popularity, but few people participate in the interactions there； Looking at all of HaiChuan’s various technical exchange platforms, the discussions in the Chemical Engineering English section stand out in terms of both depth and quality; those who are familiar with HaiChuan’s development should be able to notice this. For everyone here, the ultimate goal of coming is to solve problems, gain new knowledge, make friends, and so on. As long as everyone participates actively and a culture of mutual assistance develops within this community, whether it is popular or not becomes less important. The foreign language section already has a large number of loyal members. In my opinion, activities need to be continuously innovated in order to be carried out effectively； While retaining existing members, continue to acquire new ones, especially those who are interested in foreign languages ； While expanding the breadth of participation in technical exchanges, greater emphasis should be placed on depth.

It’s still better to organize some small activities to boost everyone’s enthusiasm, focusing on practical knowledge points that are of interest to them. Improve one’s skills continuously through participation in learning and discussions.

My personal opinion: 1. For newcomers like me to be able to participate in such activities, and especially to receive ratings from others, it surely boosts enthusiasm for engaging in this section; I think I represent a certain group of people. 2. For SeaFriends with high scores, I think it would be possible to organize a good event to use as a platform to encourage everyone’s participation. To create such an event, we need your valuable suggestions; we could launch a market survey to ask people what kind of events they would like to see.

There are activities in multiple organizations such as ‘one sentence a day’ or similar things like ‘one thing a day’. While posting academic content, include more posts that are related to everyone’s daily life, so that everyone has something to say.

I think what was said on the 2nd floor is correct – it’s not that there’s a lack of interest in the foreign language section; one can see the high daily traffic levels.
