The data says that the regulating valve has special requirements. What are the special requirements? Is it better to have a good seal or to withstand a large pressure difference and have a high mass? It must be sealed! The pressure-holding capacity of a sealed product is about the same!
May I ask the original poster what the function of this check valve is? Did you use the craftsmanship? We are Lurgi's craftsmanship. We don't have the check valve you mentioned? We have a check valve at the outlet of the pump to prevent high-pressure methanol in the pipeline from flowing back and damaging the pump!
I think it is the outlet check valve. This valve must be able to withstand a large pressure difference! The pressure at the inlet of the pump is 0.12Mpa, and the pressure at the outlet is 6.90Mpa!
I have seen such check valves in Linde processes, and some processes have more than one, and some have two. Our process was designed by Linde and has two. Personally, I consider it as long as it prevents the backflow of parking liquid and the impact on the pump and regulating valve. There is also a sudden trip of the pump, and the pressure in the tower is very high, which will cause great damage to the pump and protect the equipment. Let’s see if there are any other good insights.
