The fan of the cooling tower fan in our factory is made of fiberglass, with a diameter of 8000 mm and a rotation speed of 136 r/min. Vibration has increased during operation recently. Is it possible to perform dynamic balancing?
You can contact the manufacturer regarding this issue and ask them; they have quite a bit of experience.
Have you just removed or installed fan blades? It might be a installation issue; no further balance adjustment is needed. It’s only necessary to ensure that the angles of the fan blades are all set consistently.
There are many reasons for increased vibration. First, it is necessary to check whether the anchor bolts of the fan and motor have loosened; these can be tightened. Additionally, the coaxiality of the fan’s drive shaft should be checked to see if there is any eccentricity, and the angles of the fan blades should also be verified, which can be done through measurement. After these exclusions, factors such as faults in the reducer and whether the gears are damaged can be considered.

It’s likely a problem with the reducer; check whether the gears are engaging properly. Another possibility is that there’s an issue with the bearings of the reducer
Reasons for vibration: 1. Poor concentricity of the drive shaft; 2. Damaged elastic rubber rings; 3. Loose fastening bolts; 4. Changes in the angle of the air blades; 5. Damaged bearings; 6. Increased gear clearance; 7. Loose support frames for the air ducts.
