What should be noted during the dehydration operation of spherical tanks? Dehydration of spherical tanks is carried out using a dehydration pack for secondary dehydration; the liquid level in this dehydration pack must always be maintained at a certain level to prevent the escape of liquid hydrocarbons and resulting accidents. Before starting the dehydration process, the valve connecting the dehydration pack to the tank body should be closed first, after which the dehydration valve is opened to proceed with the dehydration. During this process, it is important to monitor the liquid level in the dehydration pack to prevent any escape of liquid hydrocarbons. Once dehydration is complete, normal operations can resume. During dehydration operations, all open-flame activities in the surrounding area are strictly prohibited, and operators must not leave the site.
1. No hot work should be carried out near areas where dehydration is taking place. 2. Operators must wear anti-static clothing. 3. Communication devices such as mobile phones and pagers should be turned off. 4. Explosion-proof tools must be used for operations. 5. When checking for water in a sump tank due to the sinking of a spherical tank, it is necessary to control the valve used for checking water, in order to prevent high pressure or liquid splashes from causing frostbite to the operators. 6. When carrying out dehydration through a secondary tank, it is important to check whether the heating system is functioning properly, control the inlet valve, open the dehydration valve, and regulate its opening degree; if hydrocarbon liquids appear, the inlet valve and the dehydration valve should be closed immediately.
