Now our factory seals the heads by itself~~ using heat pressing. If anyone has any good information regarding the cutting dimensions for different types of end caps, please share it – formulas or practical experience are both welcome. The cutting dimension for a standard elliptical head = 1.2*D + 2*h + 20 (allowance). The cutting dimension for a hemispherical head = 1.42*(D + 1/2 thickness of the plate) + 2*h + 40 (allowance). Note: Hemispherical heads generally do not have a straight edge height; if the customer has special requirements, this value must be taken into account.
For the fabrication of standard elliptical heads, the cutting dimension is D=1.2DN+2H+S, where H represents the straight edge length of the head and S represents the wall thickness; the straight edge length varies depending on the wall thickness. This is an empirical formula for reference only
Given the different processing methods (spin forming or hot pressing), the cutting process will also vary. Based on experience, spun heads are slightly smaller in size than those produced by hot pressing. Elliptical head (EHA.EHB): Mold pressing, D=1.2DN+2h+S; Spin-forming for approximately elliptical heads, R=0.833D, r=0.145D, H=0.25D. For DN1500~3300, D=1.54D+2h+S; for DN3400~3900, D=1.5D+2h+s; for DN4000~6500, D=1.145D+2h+S. Spin-formed disc-shaped heads: R=D, r=0.1D, H=0.2D. For DN1500~3300, D=1.12D+2h+s; for DN3400~6500, D=1.115D+2h+S; for DN6500+8500, D=1.115D+2H+s. Spherical heads: D=(1.45~1.5)DN+2h+S. Please point out any errors – welcome corrections! :victory:
