After installing an inverter on a centrifugal pump, testing the rotation direction before putting it into use is intended to prevent electricians from connecting the wires incorrectly, which could cause the pump to rotate in the opposite direction. During testing, just give the motor a brief start; there is no need to separately disconnect the coupling.
