The instrumentation system is responsible for all the instruments, computers, automatic valves in the factory, as well as the electrical components related to them such as power supplies and controllers. The electrical equipment includes the power supplies for various pumps, motors, devices for replacing light bulbs, cables, and other electrical apparatus. The instrument technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all types of instruments in the factory, as well as for their regular replacement. He is also in charge of selecting and providing guidance on the instruments needed for production. The electrical technician has duties similar to those of the electricians in the factory; he should oversee these electricians. Our company doesn’t have these two types of positions. In general, instruments are mainly used for devices with a voltage of 36V or less, while electrical systems are used for devices with a voltage above the safe level. Instruments, valves, and control systems fall under the category of instruments; distribution panels, electrical cabinets, as well as fans and pumps belong to the electrical category. If the factory has network management systems, then office computers are managed by those systems.
The estimates vary from company to company. At one chemical plant where I used to work, the instrumentation department was responsible for maintaining the common instruments and devices such as pressure gauges, thermometers, level gauges, flow meters, as well as various instruments that utilized PLCs; whereas the electrical department was in charge of the high-voltage electrical systems and all the electrical installations in the plant
Is what the original poster is referring to the area where instruments and electrical devices meet, such as the control of frequency converters? Ordinary electricians are responsible for handling high-voltage situations, those above 220V. The instrument is primarily responsible for DCS and remote meters at the site. The pressure gauges, glass rotors, etc. on site are the responsibility of the respective work sections.
One is in charge of low-voltage systems, and the other is in charge of high-voltage systems
