Urgent: Who has used Siemens switches?

Our company’s GE PLC control system uses a Siemens switch of the X106-1 type. There is a red LED on this switch that remains lit constantly, with a capital letter ‘F’ marked next to it. Some people say that this is an error indicator; moreover, the system has been crashing frequently lately. I wonder if this is caused by a problem with the switch If there is a fault, where could it possibly occur?
We have also used Siemens switches, different models – something like “OSM” or “SWITCH”. They were put into use in 2001, and there were no issues related to using them abroad. Generally, an indicator light will show which error has occurred.
As far as I know, the meanings of the LEDs on the Siemens switch model X106-1 are power supply, link status, and data communication. Problems with switches are not very common. It is recommended that you check whether the IP addresses of the industrial computers and communication processors connected to the switch are all in the same network range, for example, all within 140.80.0.*; as long as there are no IP address conflicts, no problems will arise.
