Coal tar contains a high level of naphthalene, which affects the operation of burners. Is there any way to filter out naphthalene? Thank you!
Naphthalene in tar is very difficult to remove; it’s already challenging to purify liquid substances. After removing naphthalene, complex processes cannot be used for combustion. Also, I’d like to ask why naphthalene affects the operation of burners? Aren’t they all flammable substances?
Because that was the response given by the burner designers, without providing a specific reason. Personally, I believe that naphthalene can cause blockages in the fuel burner pipelines during use, and it also places extra strain on the fuel pump and nozzles, reducing their lifespan.
There was no blockage in the pipelines during production; it is certain that the oil pump’s ability to supply oil was affected. The temperature of the fuel supply pipeline needs to be at a reasonable level. Too high a temperature will result in excessive volatiles, while too low a temperature will make flow difficult.
