Everyone here can discuss whether it is better to use oxygen-free copper or ordinary red copper for the water-cooled electrodes in polysilicon reduction furnaces； Is polyethylene or reactive polyethylene better for sealing? Please explain the reason.

Metal plating occurs only at the points of contact; it is usually silver, but platinum plating is also used, though it is more expensive... Polyethylene tape is generally used for sealing!
It’s better to use red copper for electrodes. I’ve encountered the problem of the copper tubes used for cooling electrodes breaking on many occasions; this causes vibrations in the coolant pipes, and if not detected in time, it can lead to the melting of the electrode insulation cover. No such problems have been observed when red copper is used
