In the north, steam purging is generally required when winter equipment is shut down. Steam temperature does not cause deformation or displacement of the equipment. Blowing with steam is no problem. Steam can cause some displacement in the low-temperature pipelines at the top of the tower, but this has been taken into account during process design and installation, so it will not affect the safety of the facility. Furthermore, purging with nitrogen cannot completely displace the liquid hydrocarbon system, as liquid hydrocarbons are denser than nitrogen.
