Our company is a chemical enterprise; there is a 15-meter-wide road along the plant area, and street lights are installed in a single row. But which side is better for installing them? Is it the side of the plant area, or the other side?
The following principles are recommended: the convenience of power supply, whether there are explosion-proof requirements on one side of the device, whether space is needed for lifting and other operations, whether the ground is frequently exposed to corrosion, the aesthetics on the side not occupied by the device, and whether it is easy to lay down power supplies.
It mainly depends on what the management decides; ultimately, it’s the factory management who has the final say. Why not please your superiors?
For 15 meters, it seems that double-row lights should be used... If it’s a single row, it’s better in theory to place them far away from the equipment area. However, if the equipment area is generally more than 15 meters away from street lights, it is basically not considered an explosion-proof area

Street lights are installed near the chemical plant’s equipment area, usually explosion-proof ones; the specific side on which they are installed is determined based on the actual conditions on site. Generally, one is installed every 20 meters; 150W metal halide lamps are used, and a height of 7-8 meters is sufficient.
It’s good to install it on the other side, as it facilitates maintenance.
