I would like to ask my colleagues in the instrumentation field: what is the actual situation in your installations? Are the grounding of the instrumentation system, the electrical grounding, and the lightning protection grounding connected together? Should the instrument grounding be handled separately? How to answer? What are the practical impacts of each? What issues should be noted? If it is connected to the lightning protection grounding system, will testing the grounding resistance annually for lightning protection have no impact on the instrumentation system? Thank you!
The grounding connections for instruments and control systems are organized in a categorized manner, with the final connection method determined accordingly. Depending on the specific application, the protective grounding assembly panel and the main grounding plate can be installed separately or together. The lightning protection ground should be designed separately.
Agree with what was said above. Separate the electrical systems from the instrumentation systems, and handle lightning protection separately

The grounding of electrical instruments can be combined, but it must be separated from lightning protection.
System grounding, electrical equipment grounding, and lightning protection grounding should all be connected to the grounding electrode in the end; otherwise, interference will occur. In a project I was working on in Guangxi, I combined these three types of connections together. Shared grounding for lightning protection and instruments, with resistance less than 1 ohm
The grounding devices for safety grounding, protective grounding, or functional grounding can be shared or separate, but must be at least 3 meters away from the lightning protection grounding.
