Please discuss this in the context of your design institute – how should the workload of piping technicians be calculated? In the past, did we count based on the number of pipelines? However, in practice, it has been found that some pipelines are very long (with many fittings), and it may take a whole day to draw them; some are quite simple and several can be drawn in one day. There are also pipelines that require specialized stress calculations, and the amount of work involved in setting up the conditions for such calculations and making subsequent modifications is significant. I don’t think it’s very reasonable to count based on pipelines. Because some pipelines are simple, while others are complex. For example, the pipelines for circulating water are relatively simple; they can basically be installed anywhere there is space. But the pipelines for the main fan are much more complicated. Stress analysis and vibration analysis are also required. Opening reinforcement; it becomes even more complicated if a lining or expansion joints are added as well. Personally, I think it’s not easy to track.

The workload calculations for different departments within the piping specialty vary. Established design firms allocate tasks based on the specifics of each project, that is, its level of complexity, as well as considering the equipment available to the piping staff. The difficulty level of piping for towers is different from that of piping for tanks. The difficulty of setting conditions for downstream specialties also varies, so I think it is quite reasonable to base it on the volume of work associated with the equipment used. Of course, this method of statistics is more suitable for large compounds. The statistics for the courtyard are mostly based on the drawings~~ This isn’t very reasonable; usually, disputes arise when it comes to dividing up the output value~~~
We don’t have a specialized field called piping here; the workload is allocated according to existing systems. It is said that there were significant disagreements when these systems were established, but once they were put into practice, everyone agreed that they were fairly reasonable.
It’s hard to calculate; generally, it’s based on the amount of work indicated in the drawings plus a difficulty factor. It is difficult to reach a consensus on matters such as the framework or the floor, stress calculations, and types of equipment.
