The definitions seem good, so I’d like to share them with everyone. BASIC DESIGN refers to the studies and necessary calculations required to carry out the basic design of the relevant equipment. This involves developing the basic process engineering aspects (process calculations and optimization), process flowcharts, as well as preliminary plans for site layout and the identification of connection points. DETAILLED DESIGN entails completing all the design tasks based on the basic design, including general layout drawings, detailed drawings, and bill of materials – all of which provide the necessary information for manufacturing, transportation, mechanical installation, as well as electrical and instrumentation setup. It also includes determining and procuring any additional related equipment and services. SUPPLY refers to the procurement, manufacturing, testing, and quality control that take place in the manufacturer’s facility for the relevant equipment. CONSTRUCTION refers to the actual installation and building process up to the point of mechanical completion, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
