Our company is about to install a set of material lifting equipment. Specifically, it has been found that the two elevators designed for transporting materials cannot meet the demands of our current production lines. Therefore, we plan to filter the three types of materials required (with a daily demand of around 130 tons) on the ground, and then use bucket elevators or other methods to transport the desired amounts of these materials to a tower 90 meters high for mixed production. Does anyone with experience have anything to share? How can dust be prevented in bucket elevators, and what are their advantages and disadvantages? What about screw elevators? What is the energy efficiency?
Bucket elevators are not used very often, but it seems that their sealing performance is poor, which can lead to significant dust problems. Moreover, they have to be installed at such a great height (90 meters). Screw conveyors could be an option, but the angle needs to be chosen carefully (based on parameters such as the material’s angle of repose and specific gravity). An air conveyor system is also a possibility, with either positive or negative pressure options available.

If your raw material is in powder form, you may consider using a pneumatic transfer pump, with a transfer pressure of 0.4–0.5 MPa and a transfer pipe diameter of DN80. A centrifugal separator should be used for collection, while the type of dust collector depends on the properties of your raw material. In this way, the conveying height and volume are guaranteed.
