Love is not possessive. Just as you may like the moon, it’s impossible to take it down and keep it with you; yet its light will still shine into your room. In the same way, you can possess the person you love in a different way – by keeping them in your memories forever. You can’t explain why when you truly love someone; you simply know that, whether in good times or bad, you want that person by your side. True love means that two people are able to endure the toughest times without demanding anything from each other. After all, love requires giving, not just receiving. If you truly love someone, you need to love who they are – their good qualities as well as their bad ones, their strengths and their weaknesses. Never wish for them to change into the person you want them to be just because you love them. Love is not about possession; it’s like liking the moon – you can’t take it down and keep it. But the moonlight will shine into your house. In the same way, you can possess this person through your other methods, keeping your love for them always in your memory. You can’t say why when you truly fall in love with someone. You should simply be aware that, whether you’re in a good mood or a bad one, you want this person by your side; true love means that two people are willing to share both good times and hard times, and in the worst of situations, they don’t force each other to do anything for them. After all, love requires the effort of one party and the acceptance of the other. If you truly love someone, you need to love who he is – his good qualities as well as his bad ones. Love his strengths and his weaknesses. You never want him to change into someone who fits what you want, simply because you love him.
