I’m not sure what you mean by \"tube clamp\" – there are many different terms used for it. It’s just a flexible joint, as the name implies. It is a type of connector that can be removed easily. We generally call it Yūrin. We use it quite often for pipeline installation inside homes. It is generally used on pipes connected by threads. So it is generally used in pipes with small diameters. For larger pipe diameters, flanges or similar methods are generally used for connection, which also facilitates disassembly. As for the scope of application, it depends on the material and sealing material used.
Are the pictures similar? No way, they’re very different. Pipe fittings come in threaded, butt-welded, and socket-type types, while union fittings are available only in threaded and socket-type forms; even socket-type union fittings have threads that allow them to be unscrewed. With a swivel joint, there is no need to tighten the pipes; whereas with threaded connections without a swivel joint, the pipes have to be moved in order to disconnect them. From a practical perspective, union fittings are used in low-pressure applications, while pipe clamps are used in high-pressure applications! !
Pipe clamps come in single-socket and double-socket types; the connection method is socket welding, and they can be used in applications where socket welding is appropriate, such as high-pressure scenarios. Flexible connectors use threaded connections and are generally used in utility applications with pressures below 10 kg.
