The pressure in our device never reaches the desired level. I would like to ask the experts: what are the common causes for this problem? Note: We have a catalytic reforming unit; since the octane rating of the product is not sufficient, it is constantly suggested that the hydrogen-to-oil ratio is too low. As a result, the process engineering team determined that the capacity of the compressor is insufficient. The compressor in question is a reciprocating type reforming cycle hydrogen compressor, lubricated with oil, and its cylinders are equipped with cooling systems. The cylinder temperature is generally around 100 degrees Celsius. The medium used is hydrogen, along with some light hydrocarbons such as C3 and C4, as well as hydrogen sulfide. Every time the fitter comes to fix it, he cleans the air valve and replaces the valve gasket; he says the air valve is leaking, but things remain the same after each repair – the pressure still doesn’t increase. The specific reasons may include the following: 1. Leakage from the compressor’s air valves and packing; 2. The circulating water cooling effect for the cylinder liner and cylinder head is poor ; 3. Compressor pipeline leakage ; 4. Cooler leakage, with gas entering the water side ; 5. The operating temperature of the compressor is too high, resulting in a decrease in the compressor’s load ; 6. The inlet gas pressure is lower than the design pressure, resulting in insufficient compressor output ; 7. The inlet gas temperature is higher than the design pressure, resulting in insufficient compressor output ; 8. Internal leakage in the inter-stage safety valve, resulting in insufficient compressor output ; 9. The return valve in the high-pressure section is not closed properly or its sealing surface is damaged, resulting in gas leakage into the compressor inlet and thus insufficient compressor output ; 10. What was said on the 2nd floor covers it pretty well; I’d like to add that if your machine has a waste discharge system, check whether there is any internal leakage in the valves of that system; Check again whether the cylinder clearance is too large ; Also, if your machine has been in use for a long time, you should consider cleaning the pipelines between various sections to restore their gas transport capacity ; The analysis considers whether there are design flaws in the type of valve used by the compressor, which may result in insufficient airflow. Based on experience, there are the following points: 1. Valve seat sealing issue; 2. Is there any issue with the orientation of the piston ring openings? ; 3. The piston ring is worn into an elliptical shape, causing air leakage ; 4. There is a problem with the piston ellipse ; 5. The packing seal is not tight enough ; 6. Improper clearance at the piston dead center ; 7. Sealing leakage between the valve seat and the seat bottom ; 8. The displacement is indeed small.
