I have just started working on the process design. During the preliminary design phase, some equipment samples are needed to estimate the requirements. I was wondering if there are any websites where I can find information on equipment parameters, or websites that offer a comprehensive list of relevant equipment. Thank you very much.
Currently, there are few standardized equipment units in the petrochemical industry. During the preliminary design phase, the specifications for the equipment are determined partly through empirical estimates, and partly by sending technical inquiries to relevant suppliers, who then provide preliminary equipment specifications along with quotes. This is because one of the key aspects of preliminary design is to come up with an approximate cost estimate.
If you want product samples, you can contact the manufacturer! There isn’t much information on this topic online, and it’s not very detailed either; talking too much about it might involve confidential details, haha. You can ask the senior engineers to see how they handle such situations. This post was last edited by 521yxc521 on 2009-3-6 10:09.]
It’s actually a process of accumulation; the equipment information commonly used in process design is obtained from manufacturers. Over time, one will accumulate a lot of data on devices that are frequently used and have good performance. At first, it’s best to seek advice from those with more experience and to pay attention to collecting such information on your own
Thank you very much; one can indeed learn a lot from forums
