As the title says. I want to simulate an easy distillation process for methanol-water, with feed at the bubble point of the saturated solution; however, it was found that the temperature for this point is missing during simulation. I would like to ask the experts here: is there any way to find this out?
Add a heat exchanger to achieve an outlet temperature subcooling of 0 degrees; this temperature is the bubble point temperature
By adding a heater or flasher and setting the vapor fraction of the stream to 0, the temperature calculated for the stream is the bubble point temperature
Does adding a heat exchanger still require input of inlet and outlet temperatures, or heat load?
On the SPECIFICATION page of INPUT, in the temperature field, select VAPOR FRACTION and enter 0; this will allow the program to automatically calculate the bubble point temperature.
I’m not sure if setting it to 0 will result in automatic handling based on the bubble point, but if it is set to 0.00001, which is a very small value, it will be very close to the bubble point. Additionally, binary analysis can be performed in tools--analysis--binary; by setting the pressure, a TXY plot can be generated, and the bubble point at that pressure for a specific composition can be obtained either from the plot or from the data results table.
Setting it to 0 represents the dew point, while setting it to 1 represents the frost point.
