What type of steel should be used to reinforce the wall panels of this rectangular box-type heating furnace: channel steel, I-beam, or flat steel? The furnace has a length of 10 meters, a width of 11 meters, and a height of 16 meters.

With such a large spacing, there must be columns and beams in between. The model of the main column is determined by structural calculations. The intermediate reinforcement beams and vertical bars should theoretically also be determined through structural calculations, and it is indeed possible to do so; however, at present there are no standards for checking the stability of the slab itself in slab-beam structures. I have seen Nippon Koki’s standard charts before, which list the maximum spacing and types of beams and vertical bars for different widths and heights (it seems the maximum width is up to 6000 mm). It’s not available anymore; otherwise I would share it. I wonder if any student has relevant materials that they could share.
