Are the pipeline accessories before and after the pump in a shielded pump the same as those in a centrifugal pump? Are there any special requirements? Thank you all for your answers!
It’s basically the same as a centrifugal pump, but since a canned motor pump requires cooling with the fluid itself, a pipe must be connected at the outlet to pass through the motor.

The most important element is the filter; impurities must not get into the shielded pump, otherwise it can easily get damaged. This is very important!
The piping for shielded pumps is the same as that for centrifugal pumps; only pumps with higher power require cooling water lines, as the pumps will stop operating due to overheating protection.

The piping for the shielded pump in our unit is no different from that of a centrifugal pump. I’ve seen such piping for the first time. Personal opinion: The piping is a bit complex, or it’s arranged this way because the medium being transported is prone to vaporization. The rotor cooling of shielded pumps and the lubrication of graphite bearings are carried out by the medium being transported, so there are requirements regarding the cleanliness of the material being conveyed. The water jacket can be activated when a high-temperature medium needs to be cooled or when a medium with a high freezing point needs to be heated. The counter-circulation line is used to lubricate the graphite bearings. An outlet filter is installed at the pump outlet to remove mechanical impurities from the material, thereby preventing these impurities from wearing out the bearings. At our facility, there are a lot of mechanical impurities in the material; as a result, the filters often get clogged and the filter screens get damaged, which leads to damage to the graphite bearings and disrupts production. We would appreciate advice on how to solve this problem
There is another question: Is it possible to install a filter on the pump inlet pipeline? If so, what type of filter should be chosen, and could this cause the pump to experience vacuum conditions?
